You remember when you were growing up, how your parents and teachers told you if you worked really hard, got good grades, locked in a steady job and climbed the corporate ladder, you could make all the money you’d ever need?
Well it turns out there's another way to get rich, too: unintelligibly yell at Dr. Phil’s audience and become an internet sensation.
Danielle Bregoli is a 14-year girl (God that makes this even worse) who appeared on television and dared a studio audience to fight her. Although you could be excused if you didn’t immediately understand what she was saying; her heavily accented version of “catch me outside, how about that” made her, for reasons no one really understands, a viral superstar.
Now the “cash me ousside” girl is cashing in on her 15-minutes – but really, how much could one misspoken line on a daytime TV show earn a pre-teen?
The answer is a lot. A whole hell of a lot.
Not including merchandise sales – you can pick up a blanket with her face on it for a cool $250–Bregoli is charging $30,000 per public appearance.
That’s right, she’s earning more than what many people make in a year, just to grace you with her presence. And that’s only if you’re in the U.S.; it’s going to be $40,000 if you’re outside the states.
Now, that wouldn’t mean much if no one was paying it. I could charge $30,000 for an evening’s company with me, but it doesn’t matter if no one wants to do it. But unfortunately for humanity, it looks like people are actually making it rain to hang out with the “cash me ousside” girl.
In fact, she’s scheduled to appear at the Rolling Loud Music Festival in a couple months, where she is going to make even more than her international quote of $40,000.
Sorry for ruining your day.
