Project 333: Challenging You To Wear Only 33 Articles Of Clothing For 3 Months

Welcome to Project 333, the game changer for all of you fashionistas. This one is for those who look in the closet and think you have nothing to wear, but when someone else looks in it, it's a closet full of wardrobe possibilities. If this is an accurate description of your closet, then this is the challenge for you.

Courtney Carver was a victim of closet chaos and was seeking a simpler, more minimalist life that required less stress, money, and energy. With that, she emptied out her closet and narrowed it down to 33 items to use for the next 3 months. She called this, Project 333

Courtney chose 33 items to wear throughout her daily life, including work, and wore them for 3 months straight. Initially she thought that people would notice and mention her repeated outfits, but to her surprise, no one said a thing and she even received more compliments than normal. Not only was her closet less chaotic, but she soon found that this simple way of creating a minimalistic life led her to happier, healthier, and simpler way of living.

If you're inspired to try this out for yourself, here are the rules:

When: Every three months.

What: 33 items including clothing, accessories, jewelry, outerwear and shoes.

What not: Not counted as part of the 33 items – wedding ring or another sentimental piece of jewelry that you never take off, underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear,  and workout clothing (you can only wear your workout clothing to workout).

How: Choose your 33 items, box up the remainder of your closet, seal it with tape and put it out of sight.

What else: Consider that you are creating a wardrobe that you can live, work and play in for three months. Remember that this is not a project in suffering. If your clothes don’t fit or are in poor condition, replace them.
