There’s a scene at the end of The Dark Knight where, after Harvey Dent dies, Commissioner Gordon explains to his son that Batman, “…is the hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now.”

We’re here to tell you, Sister Margaret Ann is the hero you deserve AND need in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

The nun was hanging out in West Kendall, Florida, just doing whatever nuns do, when she saw a car nearly go off the road while trying to avoid a falling tree.

Now, what is an elderly woman in full habit supposed to do in this situation?

a) Pray

b) Make a phone call to local police to have the tree removed

c) Whip out a chainsaw like an action movie badass and handle that sh!t herself?

Option C. Always option C.

Sister Margaret Ann pulled out that chainsaw (presumably from under her robes, where she keeps it at all times) and started handling the issue herself. She didn't wait for help, she just started chopping it up like the Jesus-loving lumberjack she is.

Hell (sorry Sister), she even found time to mean mug for the cameras like a boss:

She’d later do an interview with CNN — probably the network's highest ratings ever — where she dropped this brilliantly succinct line that we could all learn a lesson from:

“There was a need. I had the means. So I wanted to help out." Preach, sister, preach.

What’s more, it turns out that other locals who saw an old AF nun doing a job they could/should have done themselves inspired them to get off their bums and help out.

Sister Margaret Ann: changing lives, one chainsaw at a time.
